Incident Commander
A small town faces a big problem, and the crisis will only get worse unless you step in. As Incident Commander, you deploy and coordinate responder teams from multiple organizations to deal with a sudden threat to the town’s citizens and property.
Incident Commander uses a simplified approach to the Incident Command System. The focus is on operations. Players control police, fire, EMS, air operations, school, and public works units in real-time to deal with the emerging disaster.
The game supports one to five players. There is an Incident Command System framework for you to set up, but the framework does not force players into roles. Instead, players must learn to cooperate and divide the responsibilities for the most efficient operation. Player communication and delegation are crucial for success. Otherwise, responder teams may receive conflicting orders from different players.
A tutorial and several scenarios provide many types of challenges, including fires, chemical spills, looting, electrical hazards, school shooting, and casualty collection. The town mayor will keep an eye on your progress and track Public Safety and Incident Budget. Are you up to the task, Commander?
CODE YELLOW
What is Code Yellow?
Code Yellow allows hospital personnel to play through an intense Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) from the top down, including the roles of doctors, nurses, security, triage, and upper management personnel. Players work in a multi-player environment to treat patients beginning with triage and working them through the entire hospital.
What Are the Current Applications of Code Yellow?
BreakAway partnered with TATRC to create a tool that would provide a more economical, sustainable, and broader reaching computer program to address Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosives hazard Management (CBRNE GAME, now called “Code Yellow”). It is a web-based, multi-player exercise tool that incorporates the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) command structure; patient flow through triage, decontamination and treatment areas activated during a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI).
MY HERC DON'T WORK
What is My Herc Don’t Work?
In My Herc Won’t Work, players participate in an interactive serious game that teaches troubleshooting and repair processes for propulsion technicians. Players work through a series of distinct sections, wherein they receive training – via discovery – into the most viable way to ask questions, track information, and arrive at a diagnosis in the least amount of time. The game also requires the player to interview, read and research just as they would in the real world, questioning the same people they would normally do, and using the same research materials as well.
What Are the Current Applications of the My Herc Don’t Work Technology?
BreakAway developed My Herc Don’t Work in partnership with StandardAero to create a serious interactive game to teach the Canadian Air Force how to troubleshoot and repair the CC-130 Hercules turboprop aircraft and its T56 engine.
24BLUE
What is 24 Blue?
24 Blue is a 3rd person action simulation of plane directors and “Shooters” who are responsible for directing aircraft and commanding the four catapults on the deck of the USS Harry S Truman (CVN-75). The simulation uses a gamepad for user input and depicts the ordered chaos and constant danger of the flight deck.
What Are the Current Applications of 24 Blue?
24 Blue was developed and designed in partnership with The United States Navy and Naval Education Training Command. Its purpose was to create a realistic and effective training simulation using the same systems and technologies used to produce modern computer games.
