Recovery care coordinator (JOURNEYMAN) - FAYETTVILLE, NC

Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance
Position Type: Full-Time

Contingent Hire: Employment is contingent upon contract award. Offers may be extended prior to award but will become active upon contract execution.


Overview:
Allant Federal is seeking a Recovery Care Coordinator (RCC) – Journeyman Level to provide non-clinical case management and advocacy support to Recovering Service Members (RSMs) and their families in Fayetteville, NC. This role is critical to managing and executing the Comprehensive Recovery Plan (CRP) to ensure RSMs receive the care, services, and support needed for holistic recovery and transition.


The RCC acts as a trusted resource, liaison, and problem-solver — working closely with military leadership, care teams, and community partners to facilitate coordinated recovery efforts across the Warrior Care continuum.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct initial needs assessments and develop individualized Comprehensive Recovery Plans (CRPs).
  • Brief RSM unit leadership and serve as a liaison for CRP coordination, status updates, and recommended courses of action.
  • Collaborate  with interdisciplinary Recovery Teams and external stakeholders to align services to CRP goals.
  • Provide RSMs and their families with information on available benefits, entitlements, and procedures within the military medical system.
  • Address needs of family members and caregivers throughout the recovery process.
  • Ensure CRPs are actively managed, documented, and updated in accordance with program policy.
  • Facilitate transitions of care when RSMs relocate, ensuring continuity and transfer of CRPs.
  • Close CRPs upon goal achievement or when services are declined, and archive documentation per policy.
  • Enter and maintain accurate records in the program database.
  • Deliver unit immersion briefings to new commanders within 60 days of assignment.
  • Report key activities and updates through Regional Leads and the Task Manager.
  • Provide  approved transportation for RSMs using personal or government vehicles as  needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local leadership, support agencies, and  community-based resources.
  • Perform general office and administrative duties to support case tracking and reporting.


Required Qualifications: 

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting Special Operations Forces (SOF), OR
  • 7 years  of experience in recovery care coordination, case management, or a related human services role.
  • Demonstrated experience working with wounded, ill, or injured (WII) service members and their families.
  • Strong understanding of military culture, support systems, and care coordination best practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of command, care teams, and civilian agencies.
  • Proficient in time management, case documentation, and reporting requirements.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with military recovery or transition programs.
  • Familiarity with DoD benefits, entitlements, and the medical separation/retirement process.
  • Background in social work, human services, or behavioral health (non-clinical).
