Overview
Allant Federal is seeking an experienced Senior Network and Computer Systems Administrator to provide on-site Tier II technical support, including the design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise network systems. This role is responsible for ensuring network performance, reliability, and security through proactive monitoring, problem resolution, and adherence to established policies and procedures. The Senior Network and Computer Systems Administrator will collaborate with Special Operations network professionals and other technical teams to resolve complex networking issues, coordinate system changes, and support mission-critical operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure,  maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network systems while providing  on-site Tier II technical support.
• Document, implement, test, and perform problem isolation and resolution to maintain network reliability and operational efficiency.
• Monitor, tune, and optimize network performance to ensure reliable connectivity and quality transmission services.
• Maintain and review system and security logs to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with established security standards.
• Plan and coordinate computer network initiatives, including system improvements, upgrades, and configuration changes.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend new network equipment, technologies, and solutions to support operational requirements.
• Design network solutions that address operational challenges within the capacity and limitations of existing infrastructure.
• Administer and enforce network policies, procedures, configuration standards, and security requirements.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, and VPN technologies.
• Troubleshoot complex multi-vendor LAN/WAN issues, identify network bottlenecks, and resolve configuration and connectivity problems.
• Evaluate network performance and collaborate with users to diagnose and resolve moderately complex technical issues.
• Develop and maintain clear technical documentation, including network procedures, configurations, and  diagrams.
• Collaborate with other IT professionals to resolve complex client/server issues and coordinate cross-team technical efforts.
• Work with Special Operations network professionals to communicate system changes, coordinate troubleshooting efforts, and maintain operational continuity.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required. 
• Active TS/SCI clearance is required to start and must be maintained.  
• 5+ years of Network/IT experience.
• CCNA certification or equivalent experience, with knowledge of CompTIA Network+ and Security+.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant certification required, or applicable DoD 8140 qualification requirements.
• ITIL v4 Foundation certification preferred.
• Experience administering, configuring, and managing Palo Alto firewalls.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting IPSec and SSL VPN technologies.
• Advanced knowledge of the OSI model, common network protocols, TCP/UDP ports, and network troubleshooting tools such as tcpdump and Wireshark.
• Experience troubleshooting multi-vendor LAN/WAN environments and collaborating with technical teams to identify and resolve network bottlenecks and configuration issues.
• Experience with Cisco Nexus,  Catalyst, and Aggregation Services Router (ASR) products preferred.
• Knowledge of the Juniper JUNOS operating system.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols, including OSPF, BGP, and static routes.
• Experience with Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing technologies.
• Ability to evaluate network performance, identify technical issues, and implement effective solutions.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and active-listening skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including professionalism, tact, and consistent follow-through.
• Ability to develop clear and accurate technical documentation, network procedures, and diagrams.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, end users, and personnel across multiple departments.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately assess network performance against established evaluation criteria.
• Ability to follow established network protocols, methodologies, security procedures, and operational standards.
